Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern all bookings, journeys, and interactions between you (“the passenger” or “the client”) and Gill Tour & Travels (“we”, “our”, or “us”), a taxi and tour service operating from Amritsar, Punjab, India.
By submitting a booking through our website, phone, or WhatsApp, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with a booking.
Booking & Confirmation
Bookings are requests, not guarantees
Submitting a booking form on our website, or sending a booking request via WhatsApp or phone, constitutes a request for transport — not a confirmed booking. A booking is only confirmed once we have:
- Acknowledged your request by WhatsApp or phone
- Assigned a driver to your booking, and
- Sent you a confirmation message containing your driver’s details
Until all three steps are complete, we reserve the right to decline a booking request due to unavailability of vehicles, drivers, or any other operational reason. In such cases, we will inform you as early as possible so you can make alternative arrangements.
Accuracy of booking details
You are responsible for providing accurate pickup and drop-off locations, travel date, travel time, passenger count, and contact number. Errors in these details may result in a missed pickup or additional charges. If any detail changes after confirmation, notify us immediately via WhatsApp or phone.
Driver arrival window
Our drivers aim to arrive at or before the agreed pickup time. For airport pickups, we track your flight and adjust arrival accordingly. For all other pickups, please be ready at the agreed location within 10 minutes of the scheduled time. Waiting beyond this window may be subject to a waiting charge at the driver’s discretion, communicated to you at the time.
Pricing & Additional Charges
Quoted fare
The fare quoted to you at the time of booking covers the agreed route under normal conditions. All fares are in Indian Rupees (INR) and are fixed for the agreed pickup and drop-off points unless the itinerary changes after confirmation.
Charges not included in the quoted fare
The following costs are not included in the standard quoted fare unless explicitly confirmed in writing at the time of booking:
- Toll taxes and state entry taxes — highway tolls, inter-state permit fees, or border taxes applicable along the route. These are paid by the passenger at the time they are incurred, or reimbursed to the driver at the end of the journey.
- Parking charges — airport, hotel, or attraction parking fees incurred during the journey.
- Night allowance — for journeys requiring the driver to stay overnight away from Amritsar, a reasonable night allowance applies. This will be communicated to you before the journey commences.
- Route changes — any detour, additional stop, or destination change requested after departure may attract an additional charge agreed verbally between you and the driver.
- Waiting charges — beyond the standard grace period specified under Booking & Confirmation above.
Payment
Payment is typically made in cash to the driver at the end of the journey, unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed with us in advance. We do not currently process card payments through our website.
Cancellation & No-Show Policy
We understand that travel plans change. The following notice windows apply depending on the type of booking. All cancellations must be communicated via WhatsApp or phone call to +91 98558 02225.

No-show policy
A no-show occurs when the passenger is not present at the agreed pickup location within 20 minutes of the scheduled pickup time and has not contacted us. In a no-show situation:
- The driver will attempt to contact you by phone at least twice
- If unreachable after 20 minutes, the driver may leave the pickup point
- The full agreed fare may be charged for airport and outstation no-shows, as the vehicle and driver have been reserved specifically for your journey
Cancellation by us
In rare circumstances — such as a vehicle breakdown, driver emergency, or severe weather — we may need to cancel a confirmed booking. In such cases, we will:
- Notify you as early as possible via WhatsApp or phone
- Make every effort to arrange an alternative vehicle or driver
- Issue a full refund of any advance payment if an alternative cannot be arranged
We are not liable for any consequential losses arising from a cancellation made in good faith due to circumstances beyond our control.
Outsourced Operations
Gill Tour & Travels operates both owned vehicles and a network of trusted third-party driver partners. By making a booking with us, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Right to delegate
- We reserve the right to fulfil any confirmed booking by delegating the journey to a vetted, trusted third-party driver or transport partner. This may occur when our own fleet is at full capacity, during peak periods, or when a specialist vehicle (such as a larger coach or a luxury car) is required to meet your needs.
- Quality assurance
- All third-party partners used by Gill Tour & Travels are personally known to us, hold valid commercial driving licences and vehicle permits, and are required to maintain the same standards of conduct and punctuality as our own drivers. We do not use unknown or unverified drivers.
- Your fare is unchanged
- If your journey is fulfilled by a third-party partner, the fare agreed with you at booking remains unchanged. You pay us — or the assigned driver on our behalf — the same amount originally quoted. The internal arrangement between us and our partner is separate and does not affect your cost.
- Your point of contact remains us
- Even when a third-party driver is assigned, Gill Tour & Travels remains your primary point of contact for the booking. Any concerns, complaints, or changes must be directed to us via WhatsApp or phone. We take responsibility for the quality of service delivered on our behalf.
Limitation of Liability
While we make every effort to ensure punctual, safe, and professional service, certain circumstances are outside our control. By booking with us, you acknowledge the following limitations:
Delays beyond our control
Gill Tour & Travels shall not be held liable for delays, missed connections, or any consequential losses arising from:
- Traffic congestion — including accidents, road works, processions, or unexpected traffic build-up on any route
- Road closures — diversions imposed by police, government authorities, VIP movements, or infrastructure events
- Vehicle breakdown — in the event of a mechanical failure, we will make every effort to dispatch a replacement vehicle as quickly as possible, but we cannot guarantee the time taken to do so
- Extreme weather — fog, floods, landslides, heavy snowfall on mountain routes, or any weather event that makes safe travel impossible or illegal
- Acts of God and force majeure — natural disasters, civil unrest, strikes, government-imposed curfews, or any event beyond our reasonable control
- Inaccurate information provided by the passenger — incorrect pickup address, wrong flight number, or any error in the booking details supplied by you
Maximum liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Indian law, our total liability to you in connection with any booking — whether for delay, loss, damage, or any other cause — shall not exceed the total fare paid for that specific journey.
We are not liable under any circumstances for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses including missed flights, missed train connections, lost business opportunities, hotel penalties, or any other knock-on costs arising from a delayed or cancelled journey.
Road accidents and vehicle insurance
All vehicles operated by Gill Tour & Travels, or by our authorised third-party partners, carry the minimum statutory insurance required under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (India). In the event of a road accident, claims are handled through the vehicle’s insurance policy. We strongly recommend that passengers carrying high-value items or travelling for critical events obtain independent travel insurance.
Passenger Responsibilities
To ensure a safe and comfortable journey for everyone, all passengers are expected to:
- Be ready at the agreed pickup location at the scheduled time
- Wear a seatbelt at all times when the vehicle is in motion
- Not consume alcohol or illegal substances in the vehicle. A driver may refuse to continue a journey if a passenger is visibly intoxicated and behaving in an unsafe or abusive manner. No refund is due in such circumstances.
- Not smoke inside the vehicle at any time
- Treat the driver and vehicle with respect. Any deliberate damage to the vehicle caused by a passenger will be charged to the passenger at cost
- Ensure the number of passengers does not exceed the legal seating capacity of the booked vehicle. We reserve the right to refuse travel to excess passengers.
- Keep noise to a reasonable level, particularly on early morning or late night journeys
Baggage & Personal Belongings
- Baggage allowance
- Standard bookings include a reasonable amount of luggage. For large groups or passengers with excessive luggage (such as surfboards, bicycles, or cargo), please inform us at the time of booking so we can confirm vehicle suitability.
- Lost items
- Gill Tour & Travels is not responsible for personal belongings left in the vehicle. If you believe you have left an item behind, contact us immediately via WhatsApp and we will make every effort to assist in recovering it. We cannot guarantee the return of lost items.
- Valuable and fragile items
- We strongly advise against leaving cash, jewellery, electronics, passports, or other valuables unattended in the vehicle. Gill Tour & Travels accepts no liability for the loss or damage of such items during transit.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising from or in connection with a booking or journey made with Gill Tour & Travels shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amritsar, Punjab, India.
Before initiating any formal proceedings, we ask that you contact us directly to resolve the matter informally. Most issues can be resolved quickly with a phone call or WhatsApp message. We are committed to fair and prompt resolution of all genuine complaints.
